How To Manually Update Version < 3.0.0
Make sure to save all your settings first especially your airport codes!!!! We recommend a word file or email to yourself. Then... Download the most current version of the DIY Metar software above
On a Windows computer unzip the folder (right click, extract all, select your desktop), there will be 3 files
Install the driver, this allows your computer to communicate with the DIY Metar Hub
Double click, click install, once installed you can exit the window.
*** Now plug your map into the computer using the usb port coming from the hub***
Now open the ESP8226 Flash Tool Step 2
Now open the ESP8226 Flash Tool. Go to the advanced tab and match the settings.
Click config tab, on line one click the gear to the right and then select the update file. It is the file that ends in .bin
On the operation tab select the proper port that the hub is plugged into and click Flash
The update will take about 5 mins to fully download
Once you see the check mark in the bottom left your device is updated. You can now unplug your hub and use the original wall adapter.
Depending on which software version you have you may need to enter setup mode and re-enter your settings. On the first startup it can take up to 2-3 minutes to sync the weather at first.
After the update is complete and the the green check mark is in the bottom of the flasher you can unplug your map and move it to its normal location.
Lights may not change colors until you restart the map manually, this is normal.
To check which version your hub is, you can unplug and plug it back in during the startup light cycle to put it into pairing mode. On the bottom of the setup page it will now show the current software version.
